In occasione del centenario della nascita di Afro (4 marzo 1912) la città di Roma ne celebra l’opera con una mostra che raccoglie le opere del suo periodo più prolifico, ospitata dal Museo Carlo Bilotti all’Aranciera di Villa Borghese.
L’esposizione “Afro. Dal progetto all’opera. 1951-1975’” è promossa dall’Assessorato alle Politiche Culturali e Centro Storico – Sovraintendenza ai Beni Culturali di Roma Capitale in collaborazione con la Fondazione Archivio Afro.

Con una scelta di 35 opere significative, la mostra illustra le diverse fasi di concezione ed elaborazione dei dipinti di Afro: il passaggio dal disegno preparatorio, attraverso  progetti più complessi e articolati, fino alla versione definitiva del quadro.
